In honor of National Craft Month, we’ll be linking to some of the brilliant crafts we come across online. I love this so much it almost makes me wish I had a toddler again! It’s by Roubidou and part of Made By Rae’s awesome Celebrate the Boy series.

TCL vendor Heather Valentine on marthastewart.com

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The work of Heather Valentine, founder of The Sewing Loft, is a featured photo today on marthastewart.com. This is the THIRD time Martha has featured Heather’s adorable plush creations! We’re not surprised, though, as her work could not be cuter.
We are thrilled to be carrying her woodland toadstool and owl backpacks, sweet dolls with embroidered dresses, and guilt-free felt doughnuts (in a real pastry box!). In addition to being cute cute cute, items from The Sewing Loft are made using reclaimed, recycled materials – totally TCL!
Tie on some color!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We just got in a whole shipment of Peter Dabal’s popular hand-dyed silk scarves. Available in two lengths and in bright new colors, these will liven up the rest of your winter and take you right into spring. Stop by and check them out — they are so luxurious, and at $15 – $20 each, one of the best deals in the shop!

Look what just came in!

Mmm…. it smells REALLY good in The Craft Lounge! Tom, of Bodhi Handmade, just delivered a whole new batch of soaps and Bodhi Butters. It’s a good thing, too – his products are hard to keep in stock. They’re made of the most luscious all-natural ingredients and make great gifts for both men and women. Stop by to see (and smell) for yourself!

Calling all teen writers…

Good news for those of you with aspiring teen writers. I had to postpone my Teen Writer’s Workshop today because of the awful weather. We start next week on Wednesday, and we’ll meet for four Wednesdays in a row, 4-5pm. Each teen will bring a piece of writing in progress. As a group, we’ll discuss how to improve the pieces, and we’ll learn some writing tips that all writers know and use. Remember, this workshop is for FUN – this is not school-related. Great for kids who write for pleasure. Spots are still available, so sign up!

To register, visit: http://thecraftlounge.com/; e-mail: info@thecraftlounge.com; call: 201-944-3311; or stop by!

Love Bugs from Every Day’s a Holiday book by Heidi Kenney

We’re getting so excited for our special Heidi Kenney crafting event on January 30th at 3pm. Her book, Every Day’s a Holiday (Chronicle Books), is chock full of fun crafting ideas. It’s hard to decide what to try first. We gave the love bugs a try this weekend. Aren’t they cute?  Sadie loved making the felt bodies. They’re such a sweet thing to give to your Valentine.

We still have a few spots open for our Afternoon with Heidi Kenney, so we hope you’ll sign up soon. Remember, you’ll get to take home a copy of this awesome book if you attend!

Feel free to sign up online:
