Calling all teen writers…

Good news for those of you with aspiring teen writers. I had to postpone my Teen Writer’s Workshop today because of the awful weather. We start next week on Wednesday, and we’ll meet for four Wednesdays in a row, 4-5pm. Each teen will bring a piece of writing in progress. As a group, we’ll discuss how to improve the pieces, and we’ll learn some writing tips that all writers know and use. Remember, this workshop is for FUN – this is not school-related. Great for kids who write for pleasure. Spots are still available, so sign up!

Love Bugs from Every Day’s a Holiday book by Heidi Kenney

We’re getting so excited for our special Heidi Kenney crafting event on January 30th at 3pm. Her book, Every Day’s a Holiday (Chronicle Books), is chock full of fun crafting ideas. It’s hard to decide what to try first. We gave the love bugs a try this weekend. Aren’t they cute?  Sadie loved making the felt bodies. They’re such a sweet thing to give to your Valentine.

Learn how to make upcycled mini trees…

We sold a ton of these trees last year (well, maybe not a TON, but you get the idea).  I think it’s time to share the secret of how to make these cuties.  So, on Thursday, December 9 from 8-9PM, we show you how!  Feel free to bring in a felted wool sweater (call us if you have questions), or use one of ours. We’ll also supply you with vintage ornaments and glitter to make these trees extra-special. We’re now collecting the chemo caps…

Carve a Pumpkin That’s Squirrel-proof!

I can’t tell you how many complaints I’ve heard about rabid squirrels destroying people’s poor pumpkins.  Well, we’ve found a way to foil those pesky critters: Faux Pumpkins!  They look just like the real thing, but they’ll never get moldy & they don’t taste great either!  We have 4 spots open for the Faux Pumpkin Carving Class (Family-Friendly).  Enrollment is open until Thursday.

We’ll supply you with a very realistic-looking faux pumpkin, and we’ll teach you how to carve that baby so that you can enjoy it year after year, and no one will be the wiser.
