Magic Loop Knitting Class – 10/25/10 @ 7:30PM

Do you hate knitting with double-pointed needles?  Well, Kathy will be holding a class next Monday that will teach you how to knit in the round without them.  It’s magical!  She’s betting that you’ll be so into “magic loop knitting” that you’ll be inspired to knit a toasty pair of socks.  Here are the details:

Monday, October 25 from 7:30PM to 9:00PM ($25)

We’ll be taking reservations for the class until Friday evening.  If you’d like to sign up, please call: 201/944-3311, e-mail: info@thecraftlounge.com or visit our handy-dandy website: http://thecraftlounge.com/.  I feel loopy already.

Crazy Grace Halloween T’s are in da house…

Good news.  The Crazy Grace Halloween T’s have arrived.  We also received these adorable Fox scarflets.  Remember those creepy fox stoles your grandma used to sport?  Well, Knitberry’s taken all the creepiness out of the equation, and these are just downright cute AND warm.

Create your own spectacular Halloween mask!

Next Friday (10/22, 3-4PM), we’ll gather to make one-of-a-kind Halloween masks.  This is a great family activity, and it will help get you started in fashioning your Halloween costume.  We’ll supply you with everything you’ll need to make silly, scary, or stunning masks.

If you’d like to sign up for the class, please visit our website:http://thecraftlounge.com/, e-mail us: info@thecraftlounge.com, or call: 201/944-3311.

Thanks!

Carve a Pumpkin That’s Squirrel-proof!

I can’t tell you how many complaints I’ve heard about rabid squirrels destroying people’s poor pumpkins.  Well, we’ve found a way to foil those pesky critters: Faux Pumpkins!  They look just like the real thing, but they’ll never get moldy & they don’t taste great either!  We have 4 spots open for the Faux Pumpkin Carving Class (Family-Friendly).  Enrollment is open until Thursday.

Faux Pumpkin Carving ~ $25 ~ 6 spaces

Saturday, October 16 from 2 to 3:30PM

We’ll supply you with a very realistic-looking faux pumpkin, and we’ll teach you how to carve that baby so that you can enjoy it year after year, and no one will be the wiser.

Shrinkymobiles!

What could be better than a cool mobile? A mobile made from shrink plastic and chopsticks, that’s what! The Tuesday Craft Club crew spent yesterday afternoon busily drawing away. Next week, we’ll assemble their mobiles. These will look so great hanging in the kids’ rooms!

Treasure Boxes!

Paint, glue, pretty papers, ric-rac, markers… we pulled out all the stops when we made these fun treasure boxes at Tuesday’s Craft Club. Some of the kids shared what they’ll be keeping in their boxes, but we’ll never tell!

More fun at Craft Club…

The kids had fun making these pretty decoupaged pencil tins last week at Craft Club.  They were skeptical about how they would turn out since they were covered in white glue when they left.  I think they’ll be surprised when they see how lovely they now look!  This turned out to be a perfect kids craft.  All ages enjoyed it.

Helloooo, dolly!

Take us home.  We’re all dolled up with no place to go…

Tomato pincushions make everyone happy…

Roz & Amy like their pincushions!

Special thanks to Martha Stewart and her new book, MARTHA STEWART’S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF SEWING AND FABRIC CRAFTS.   We had a swell time making these adorable tomato pincushions.

Calling all knitters & crocheters!

We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, September 25 at 7:30PM for a special charitable crafting event.  In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’ll come together to make chemo caps for neighbors in need.  Bring your needles and yarn or feel free to use ours.  We’ll supply a variety of hat patterns for crafters at all levels.

If you plan to come, please let us know so we can make sure to have plenty of snacks on hand! Just give us a ring: 201/944-3311 or e-mail: info@thecraftlounge.com.
